My name is Georg Duemlein. I live in Wellington, New Zealand. preset.de started out in the mid 90’s as a live visuals playground – now it turned into my research and development stream.

I hold a Product Design degree from the Bauhaus University in Weimar. For more than 15 years I’ve been conceptualizing and implementing workflows and pipelines for creative applications. Since 2008 I’ve been focusing on tasks in visual effects:

2008 Technical Director at Axis Animation, Glasgow for ‘Killzone 2’ [1] and Human Ark, Warsaw: ‘The Lost Town of Switez’ [2].
2009 I’ve been a CG Lead at CIS Vancouver, helping to develop and implement the Houdini/Massive Crowd Pipeline for Clint Eastwood’s ‘Invictus’ [3].
2010 I’ve been working as R&D Software Developer at MPC Vancouver. Here I helped to build the Finite Element Destruction Toolkit ‘Kali’ [4] used for Sucker Punch (Zack Snyder)[5], Source Code (Duncan Jones), X-Men: First Class and Harry Potter: Deathly Hallows Part 2.

In March 2011 I moved to Wellington, New Zealand to work as an Effects Technical Director for Weta Digital on ‘The Adventures of Tintin'[6] (Steven Spielberg), “The Avengers” [7] and ‘The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey”

My IMDb entry – a complete resume is available upon request but I currently don’t accept new client work.
